Why Banks Are Losing the Room

The fee story and the rate story are well covered. The vendor estate banks and their suppliers gorged on in the eighties and nineties is still running, largely unexamined, and it is the part that will not survive scrutiny.

The vendor estate banks and suppliers built in the eighties and nineties is still running on original agreements: accountability that cannot be outsourced, regulators conceding banks cannot leave, oversight by questionnaire rather than custody record, and permissions over shareholder data written before the data existed.

A Model Reads What You Wrote Down. A Person Sees What You Did.

With every house now worried about what AI will do to its data, the honest answer is that the brand is the more exposed of the two — and neither risk arrived with the model. In military-heavy regions, the data risk runs higher still. Buy the AI. Govern the path. Keep the boots on the ground.

Data is at stake in a way that is measurable, priced and insurable. Brand is at stake in a way that is none of those things. A house that routes its risk capital through an entity its own state cannot examine will route its data the same way, and its artwork after that.

Brand Safety Used to Be a Phone Call. Now It Is a Search.

A reputation was once protected, and ruined, by a few people who knew each other. AI has changed every part of that: it floods the web with synthetic content, fakes the brand itself, and reads a company, its principals, its vendors and their circle, down to posts, chats and email from years ago, in seconds. Most brands are still using the old controls.

Brand safety no longer means where a logo appears. It means what a company, its principals and their circle have already published, and that includes its vendors, because AI systems often collapse a brand's public expression and its vendors' into the same result. A market will price that before anyone checks who wrote it.

Dermorepubliq
Manila Times ↗

Filipino skincare hit 4.5M units sold, dominates TikTok Shop PH beauty

Per Manila Times and Business Mirror, Dermorepubliq surpassed 4.5 million units sold and emerged as TikTok Shop Philippines' number-one beauty and personal care brand, building on 310 percent year-over-year growth.

ReadingThe steal: TikTok Shop isn't a channel — it's a native marketplace that rewards high-velocity, low-SKU beauty brands that can move inventory at speed. If you have a proven beauty or personal care SKU, test it on TikTok Shop PH or US first with a live-demo creator bundle, not via paid ads. The platform's algorithm surfaces bestsellers; if you move 10k+ units in the first 30 days, the feed does the work. Skip the agency pitch. Hire one creator with 50k–200k followers, give them 50 units, go live for 2 hours, and watch the platform's recommendation engine do what your ad spend never could.
WatchWatch for Dermorepubliq to expand into TikTok Shop US or APAC markets — the playbook is portable and the brand now has proof of velocity.

TikTok Shop and Lookfantastic drove H1 2026 revenue jump for beauty conglomerate

Per Cosmetics Business, THG Beauty (which owns Lookfantastic and Cult Beauty) saw revenue rise in H1 2026, driven by demand for skin care and K-beauty as well as social-led sales through TikTok Shop.

ReadingThe steal: if you have multiple SKUs or brands, do not compete on single-platform ad spend. Instead, map each SKU to the channel where its audience moves fastest (TikTok Shop for impulse, Lookfantastic for curation, DTC for margin). Run a single inventory pool but different creative and messaging per channel — the same unit ships from the same warehouse but the sell-in motion is channel-native. Test this with one hero SKU first: take 2000 units, split them 30% TikTok Shop livestream, 40% Lookfantastic curation, 30% DTC email + paid. Ship all three at once. Watch which depletes first, then reinvest the margin into that channel's next batch.
WatchWatch for THG to add Temu Shop or other high-velocity platforms to the mix, or for Lookfantastic to build its own creator ecosystem.

Stack Influence
USA Today ↗

Micro-influencer platform reported 11M+ creators in vetted network, ranked number one USA 2026

Per USA Today press release, Stack Influence, ranked the top micro-influencer platform in the USA, reported that its vetted creator network surpassed 11 million creators.

ReadingThe steal: do not use Stack Influence for a one-off campaign. Instead, set up a standing deal: allocate $5k–$10k monthly to seed 50–100 new micro-creators with product (or affiliate codes). Stack Influence's platform will surface creators by niche, audience demographics, and past performance — you do not pick. The creators do the demo, tag you, and the platform gives you real-time ROI. This is cheaper and faster than hiring an influencer agency. Run it for 90 days, track the conversions per creator, then lock in the top 20% for monthly seeding.
WatchWatch for Stack Influence to add a native affiliate/commission layer or a direct integration with TikTok Shop or Shopify for one-click conversion tracking.

Business Insider Markets ↗

Fragrance brand named 2026 Seller of the Year at TikTok Shop Awards

Per Business Insider Markets, BellaVita Luxury was named 2026 Fragrance Seller of the Year at the TikTok Shop Awards, recognizing the brand's sales performance.

ReadingThe steal: if you sell fragrance or a category with $40+ AOV, run a test on TikTok Shop before you hire an ad agency. The platform's livestream and social proof loop (bestseller badge, review count) will front your best-movers to the feed for free. Allocate 2 SKUs, hire 2 creators with 100k–500k followers, do 2 weekly 90-minute livestreams, and track the SKU that gets 200+ units in the first 90 days. That is your lead product. Double down on it across TikTok Shop, then test Temu or Pinterest.
WatchWatch for TikTok Shop Awards to expand categories or for BellaVita to announce a new fragrance line riding the momentum.

Beyond Yoga
Modern Retail ↗

Performance-apparel brand opened East Coast pop-up, stressing Glowzone fabrication

Per Modern Retail, Beyond Yoga opened a new pop-up in New York City that emphasized its Glowzone performance fabrication, as part of a broader push to expand presence on the East Coast.

ReadingThe steal: do not run a pop-up to replicate your DTC showroom. Instead, identify the ONE product claim that is hardest to sell online (fit, feel, durability, or sensory quality), set up a 30-day pop-up in a high-foot-traffic neighborhood with your target demographic, and give every visitor a 15-minute hands-on experience with that one feature. Collect emails on the way out, offer a post-visit code (15% off), and measure conversion to online purchase. The pop-up is a conversion funnel, not a brand moment.
WatchWatch for Beyond Yoga to expand pop-ups to other regions (LA, Chicago) or to integrate post-visit livestream try-ons with creators.

Top-growing beauty brands on TikTok Shop 2026 include hair removal and body care lines

Per WWD, the 10 top-growing beauty brands on TikTok Shop in 2026 include hair removal cream brand Phofay and body care line Crowned Skin, among others.

ReadingThe steal: if you have a narrowly defined personal-care SKU (hair removal, body care, nail care, intimate wellness), skip traditional wholesale. Go direct to TikTok Shop, position yourself as the category leader in search (e.g., 'best hair removal cream under $20'), and build social proof via user-generated content and reviews. Run a 30-day campaign with 3 creator partnerships (100k–500k followers, product demos in-feed or livestream). If you hit 5k+ units in 30 days, you have proof of category ownership on the platform. Then expand to Temu or Pinterest.
WatchWatch for Phofay and Crowned Skin to announce expansion into new APAC markets or retail partnerships off the back of TikTok Shop momentum.

Creators have shifted from influencers to strategic partners, per Glossy discussion

Per Modern Retail's coverage of Glossy discussions, creators in fashion and beauty have evolved from one-off influencers to strategic partners over the past decade.

ReadingThe steal: if you are building a beauty or apparel brand, do not hire creators for single campaigns. Instead, identify 3–5 creators with 50k–500k followers in your niche who have an engaged, buying audience. Offer them 5–10% of revenue from sales they generate (tracked via unique affiliate code) plus free product each month. Give them early access to new SKUs and ask them for feedback on product-market fit before you launch. They become your co-marketers and product advisors. This costs less than hiring a brand agency and moves faster than a 6-month product development cycle.
WatchWatch for beauty and apparel brands to announce equity stakes or revenue-share arrangements with creators, or for creator management platforms to add equity/commission tools.
