Multiple creator partnership brands (Favorite Daughter, SharkNinja, Bob's Discount Furniture noted)

At Shoptalk Fall 2026, brands including Favorite Daughter, SharkNinja, and Bob's Discount Furniture discussed lessons learned from creator partnerships, with one brand noting the experience 'scared the hell out of me', per Digiday.
ReadingThe steal: When seeding a creator, do not hand over the product and hope. Sign a creator agreement that includes: (1) a defined deliverable — the number of posts, the format (Reel, TikTok, carousel, etc.), and the posting window; (2) a usage clause that lets you repurpose the content on your own channels after 90 days; (3) a pre-approval step before the creator posts (not veto power, but a review); (4) exclusivity language that prevents the creator from promoting a direct competitor for 180 days after the partnership. The cost is higher — you are now paying for talent and IP — but you de-risk the partnership and build an asset library. Most small brands seed creators and lose the footage. Build the contract so you keep it.
